About Capoeira Gerais Boston

Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art infused with live music, dance, gymnastics, and acrobatics. Sometimes referred to as a dance-fight, Capoeira disguises self-defense with elegant, calculated movements and a smile. Performed by two people, it is often called ‘a game’ that is played, not fought. Once you play Capoeira you truly understand it’s magnetism; you form a bond with those in your class and around the globe that share in your passion.

We offer classes for children and adults of all ages and levels. Students learn not only the sport, but the history behind the sport, how to play the musical instruments as well as the Portuguese language. It stresses the values of commitment, acceptance and respect, all the while providing a great workout and self-defence strategies. Capoeira is workout of the body and mind. For the body it improves strength, flexibility and overall fitness. For the mind it instills confidence, discipline, respect and cultural acceptance.
